Words and words it were all,
And empty promises when I took the fall,
Let you go in hopes you would return,
Believed you would realize and give a call.

Waited and waited did I,
Till hours turned to days
And days to months,
But your call came never once.

Hopes diminished but never did my love,
For it is eternal, beyond the physical.
Difficult it was but I mended my heart, taught it to survive,
Accepted it’s okay to love yet not have you in this life.

There were lessons to learn perhaps,
You had yours and I had mine.
With that I say farewell dear friend,
Till we meet again, in some other realm, some other time.
Sans ego, sans anger and sans any vice
As better humans , much more wise,
With promises stronger to not leave each other and for sure this time we shall survive.
